RBH was founded by Sue and John Lanphere. After helping students through the college admissions process, including their own sons, they decided to use their experience to help even more students reach their college goals.
John earned a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, an Executive MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business, and completed executive leadership programs at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Managment. He has over 27 years experience in many areas of engineering and management to the Director level in companies including the Central Intelligence Agency, Moore Business Forms, and Xerox Corporation. As a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, John develops and delivers corporate level professional training programs including leadership coaching, communications, and interactive skills to improve their bottom line results.
Sue and John are active in their community, having served on the board of a local nursery school, coached youth soccer, and served on the Troop Committee for Troop 4029 of the Boy Scouts of America. (They are proud parents of two Eagle Scouts). Additionally, John has volunteered with the Scott Spino Literacy Program at Elementary School #22 in the Rochester City School District. He is currently working as an executive advisor with Save the Children
As proud parents of a Cadet at the US Coast Guard Academy (USCGA). John serves as an Academy Admissions Partner, State Coordinator for Academy Admissions Partners, and President of the Upstate NY Chapter of the USCGA Parents Association.
